On the morning of July 11, the sub-forum on Inter-Civilization Exchanges and Mutual Learning: Cultural Inheritance and Innovation was held as part of the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Shen Haixiong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of China Media Group, and Wong Foon Meng, former president of the Senate of Malaysia, attended the event and delivered remarks. Huang Zhijian, Chairman of China Publishing Group Co., Ltd., participated in the roundtable dialogue. The sub-forum was chaired by Zhang Donggang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Renmin University of China. Over 140 guests from more than 20 countries and regions gathered to exchange ideas.

On the topic of “Cultural Innovation and the Shared Values of All Humanity,” Huang Zhijian exchanged views with the participants. He noted that publishing is the process of selecting and refining cultural raw materials according to defined textual norms and specific value judgments, thus forming the essential foundation for the inheritance, innovation, and development of culture—a role that remains unchanged even in today’s age of artificial intelligence. Through selection, translation, editing, and dissemination, publishing bridges different cultures, languages, and scripts across time and space, fostering communication, recognition, understanding, and learning, while upholding the shared values of all humanity and advancing the progress of human civilization.

The Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting was co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the International Department of the CPC Central Committee. On the afternoon of July 10, Huang Zhijian attended the opening ceremony.
