Embellishing with Jade is a two-volume book. The first volume, named after the famous sentence “Just like the sound of large and small pearls falling onto a jade plate” from Bai Juyi’s Pipa Xing, is a collection of short essays by the author. The second volume, named after the famous sentence “Thousands of flowers are weighing down branches” in the second part of Du Fu’s Alone Walking Along Riverbanks Looking for Flowers, is a condensation of the author’s years of research on poetry under 12 topics. Some of the author’s couplets and poems in the appendix are made public for the first time.
