The book presents the transformation and future of Chinese films and tv dramas in the Internet era. In 1905, a black-and-white silent film entitled Dingjun Mountain shot by the Beijing “Fengtai Photo Shop” unveiled the Chinese film history in a century. Since its establishment in 1958, China’s tv dramas have been developing over six decades, evolving into a modern art form with wide coverage, large audience and great impact. Around 1998, China began to equip itself with Internet cables and facilities in many areas, making it possible to transmit text, audio, image and video online. Over the past decade, the development of online new media has made profound transformation to the industrial chain of films and tv dramas. Consisting of four chapters on film industry, micro films, interviews with film practitioners and reviews of hot topics, the book presents the tradition and transformation of Chinese films and tv dramas in detail from the perspective of new media.
