This book selects 100 maxims that are most frequently quoted and best reflect the tenets of Confucianism from the nearly 500 pithy articles in the Analects of Confucius. The biggest challenge for translating ancient classics is deciding on the true meaning of the ancient language. The translator works hard to ensure the English translation is faithful to the source text and maintain the original concise style. The source text comes with notes written in vernacular Chinese, to make it easier for readers to understand. The translation was reviewed by native English speakers.
