In the wake of the outbreak of a ruthless civil war in a West Asian country, the Chinese government began to evacuate its nationals to protect their safety. The 12-year-old boy Zuo Xiaoliang and his parents, who had moved to study and work in the country three years ago, had to take the last evacuation flight back to China. Yet when they were just about to drive to the airport, they saw in the underground parking lot 18 of Zuo Xiaoliang’s classmates, who became homeless or lost contact with their families because of the war, and suffered from hunger, danger and fear. Touched by Zuo’s begging, his parents eventually decided to give up the chance to take the last evacuation flight and drive the children to a security area. Despite all the dangers and difficulties along the way, including running into bandits and being trapped on the battlefield, they managed to ensure the safety of these children in the end.
