The book compiles 20 unique traditional dances that have been enlisted as intangible cultural heritage from 13 ethnic groups of different regions. A dancers’ study guide, the book also sheds light the historical and cultural background, the traditional performance forms, and the original rhythms of these traditional dances. The book summarizes five conventional rhythms and rearranges the original melodies and rhythms into a multi-voice percussion notation that can be practiced in individual voices. The Records of sound tracks are also provided in the book. The book also provides fun classroom learning activities that help to deliver music theories in an entertaining way. The book has been selected by Beijing Dance Academy as the textbook for traditional Chinese dance rhythm training.
