Sun Xiguo holds several prominent positions at Peking University, including professor at the School of Marxism, professor, doctoral supervisor, and executive deputy director at the Research Institute for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and professor at the Research Center for Theoretical System of the Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, a key research center for humanities and social sciences sponsored by the Ministry of Education. He is also a chief expert at the Subcommittee on the History of Chinese Philosophy of the Central Advisory Committee of the Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project and member of the Marxist Theory Discipline Sub-Committee of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee.
