Born in Chunhua, Shaanxi, Yang Jiachen is a freelance writer and fruit pit sculptor based in Xi’an. Among his notable published works are The World in Tang Poetry and Moon over Chang'an's Walls. Fans of Duzhu’s original content edition might recognize Yang from their personal column “A Visitor in Chang’an”. Persimmons of Good Fortune began as a heartwarming bedtime story for Yang’s daughter, later evolving into an enchanting picture book.
