Bai Wei, under the pseudonym of Feiyu, is a senior media people, scholar of culture, and poet. He was a staff member of Beijing Evening News for years. Currently, he serves as the general secretary of Beijing Historical Records Research Institute, distinguished lecturer of the Tsinghua University School of Continuing Education, researcher of the Politics and Economics Research Center of China University of Political Science and Law, and distinguished expert in food culture of World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry. He has been the screenwriter and cultural advisor for many documentaries produced by CCTV. His publications include Sorrow in Darkness, We Were Once Shining Bright, Philosophy of Chinese Cuisine, and Geography of Chinese Cuisine.
