Introduction

The book is a collection of interviews with 40 Chinese sociologists (such as Su Guoxun, Zhou Xiaohong, Bian Yanjie, Zhao Dingxin, Zhou Xueguang, Lin Nan, Xie Yu, and Ye Qizheng), who have grown up since the restoration and reconstruction of Chinese sociology. It aims to explore the reconstruction of Chinese sociology in the past 40 years, the direction of its localization, and people’s understanding of China’s social changes and reform and opening-up. On the 40th anniversary of the restoration and reconstruction of Chinese sociology, this topic is the best confirmation of the rapid development and overall improvement of sociology and social sciences as a whole since the reform and opening-up. It will have an important impact on the construction of the discipline of sociology in China, the promotion of the imagination and academic level of the young generation of sociology, and the public understanding of sociology.
