The year 2024 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the National People’s Congress. To celebrate this significant milestone, while adhering to the original aspiration and founding mission of publicizing the system of people’s congresses, and also to assist the workers of the People’s Congress and the deputies to the People’s Congress to understand the knowledge of the People’s Congress and comprehend its system in a short period of time, the “Enjoy Reading the People’s Congress” pocket-sized book series has been specially planned. This series consists of three volumes, namely “Selected Common Knowledge”, “Focus on Legislation” and “A Brief History”, which respectively use plain and easy-to-understand language to tell the basic common knowledge about the performance of duties by the people’s congresses at all levels in accordance with the law, the achievements and experiences in the legislation of the people’s congresses, as well as the development process and the glorious achievements of China’s system of the people’s congresses. It aims to convey the knowledge of the People’s Congress well and spread good stories about it, so that China’s fundamental political system can be more deeply rooted in people’s hearts.
