Comrade Deng Xiaoping was a great Marxist, a great proletarian revolutionary, politician, military strategist, and diplomat, a tested communist fighter, the chief architect of China's socialist reform and opening up, and modernization, the founder of the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and the core of the second generation of the central leadership collective of the Communist Party of China. The year 2024 marks the 120th anniversary of Comrade Deng Xiaoping's birth. To express our deep remembrance and infinite admiration, our publishing house has specially edited and published a book titled Selected Calligraphy Art of Deng Xiaoping. This book is compiled from the handwriting of Deng Xiaoping archived in the Central Archives from the perspective of calligraphy art, including a total of 53 works. The works are arranged chronologically by the date of writing, with those of unknown month placed at the end of that year, those of unknown date placed at the end of that month, and those with the same date sorted by the number of strokes in the first character of the work's title. The publication of this book will help people understand and appreciate Comrade Deng Xiaoping's calligraphy, perceive the demeanor of great figures, and inspire enthusiasm for patriotism, love for the Party, and efforts to build Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
