Introduction
The National Anthem of the People’s Republic of China (March of the Volunteers), was written by Tian Han, with music composed by Nie Er in 1935. It was originally the theme song of the film Sons and Daughters in a Time of Storm. In 2004, the Second Session of the 10th National People’s Congress passed a constitutional amendment, officially establishing March of the Volunteers as the national anthem of China. The National Anthem Law of the People’s Republic of China was adopted at the 29th Session of the Standing Committee of the 12th National People’s Congress on September 1, 2017, and came into effect on October 1. In 2025, China approved and officially released the standard musical score for the national anthem, with this version being the orchestral full score.
