This piece of work is inspired by the story of Tai Lihua, a well-known lead dancer with disability in China. It is a fiction with a realistic theme focusing on the lives of the special group, depicting love, confidence and hope. A girl called Dongyin lost her hearing due to a medication error when she was two years old, which set her family on the hard journey of seeking medical help. After being let down over and over, Dad and Mom paid more attention and showed more loving care to Dongyin. Dongyin was beautiful and kind, yet sensitive and lonely. Only when she found an elephant-foot drum, everything in her world started to be changed. This is an encouraging story about seeking brightness in darkness, pursuing perfection in imperfection, and creating miracles out of the ordinary.
