CPG held the 2nd Editorial Skills Contest

The 2nd Editorial Skills Contest of China Publishing Group Corp.  (CPG) was successfully held on the afternoon of April 13th. Over 120 editors from 21 units of the Group took part in the competition at the group’s main exam room and the business sub exam room. Group leaders attached great importance to this work. Li Yan, member of the Leading Party Members’ Group of CPG Corp. and Board Member & President of China Publishing & Media Holdings Co., Ltd., made a tour of inspection of the exam rooms.

This contest is a practice of the Group to study further Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirits of the 19th CPC National Congress and the 2nd, 3rd, f4th and 5th plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and earnestly carry out the campaign of Party’s history learning and education. This competition will provide talent support for the high-quality development of the Group during the 14th Five-Year Plan period by pooling and recommending talents.

This test focused on examining the editors’ comprehension and mastery of knowledge of Party history, current affairs, politics, laws and regulations; basic knowledge of language, common knowledge of literature, history, philosophy, science and technology; professional knowledge and skills of editing & proofreading, and digital publishing technology, etc. The competition aims to select the top skilled talents and give full play to their leading role, so as to boost development.

Editorial Skills Contest, as a key part of the Group’s personnel training system, provides a platform for those talents to stand out. In the next step, the Group will continue to provide fair opportunities for editorial staff through editing skills competition to cultivate highly competent talented editors who are realistic and innovative and possess strong political awareness and capability of winning, thus giving full play to the leading role of the “national team” in publishing to promote the prosperity and development of publishing industry and the cultural undertakings.
